About Jim
I have taught at the Bloom School of Jazz since 2000. Prior to that, I taught at the Oakbrook Academy of Music and Art. I also taught Intro to Music courses and directed the choir at St. Barbara High School in Chicago. I have also taught music out my home for many years.
As a performer, I’ve worked with internationally recognized jazz artists, including Wynton Marsalis, Frank Catalano, Spider Saloff, Luba Mason, Bill Yancey (long-term bassist for Ella Fitzgerald), and others. I perform regularly at top jazz clubs and fine restaurants all around the Chicago area. I also enjoy performing classical music, primarily for weddings and other private functions.
