About Troy

Hello, my name is Troy Garcia Richardson. I am a senior at Loyola University Chicago, double-majoring in biology and music. I moved to Chicago in 2017 from the Minneapolis area to start school. My goal is to spread the passion I have for music with others who are interested in learning. I am seeking students who are at the beginner to early-intermediate level. If you want to learn how to play the classical piano, electric bass, or want to learn the basics of music, I’m your guy!

I have been playing piano for 16 years with a focus on the classical style and bass guitar for 10 years. I have been performing for 13 years in spaces that range from large concert halls to local bars. In addition to these experiences, I have received numerous awards from the Minnesota Music Teachers Association (MMTA). In my career with the MMTA, I won the state-wide piano competition six times in addition to the state-wide composition contest.

At Loyola University Chicago, I have participated in numerous ensembles and have been featured in the Honors Concert.
