About Rita

I am skilled at helping a student understand music mechanics and phrasing (with flute/voice/piano) at all levels and ages. My students learn to practice effectively, perform and audition to the best of his/her ability. I consistently bolster one's confidence and enjoyment in the process.

Sharing the beauty and power of music is such a pleasure! Engaging a student musically and challenging her/him to progress is fulfilling work. To teach is to learn. Learning is F U N!

As a college student, I first taught recorder during school at St. Benedict the Moor Parish School (Pittsburgh, PA) and in the summer for Music & Arts Center (Manassas, VA).

Bachelor of Music, Duquesne University (1990)

Kindermusik University (2002 & 2016) Licensed Kindermusik Educator

Abby

Working with Flutissimo gave me the opportunity to serve my community in my favorite way: through music. Playing in nursing homes and homeless shelters always received a positive reaction from the audience.
Additionally, because of this group and my experience with Rita, I am a four-time West Virginia All-State Musician, and have been in all three ensembles: All-State Orchestra, All-State Choir, and All-State Band. My time with Flutissimo along with these experiences have enhanced my talents and have allowed me to blossom as a musician.

Great experience! She ALWAYS encourages me to do my best even if I’m just practicing by myself or with her. She breaks things down if you don’t really understand something.
