About Lee

My name is Lee Maddox and I am here to help piano students reach their potential in becoming a pianist. I have been teaching piano since 1990 and am a very detailed oriented person in the areas of instruction, sight reading, and lesson preparation. I have a Bachelor's degree in Computer information Systems from the University of Phoenix and a Minor in Piano from Houston Baptist University. If you are a member of the Freemasons and eastern star, I am sorry but I do not teach or allow them in my piano studio. My ability to play piano is not a scam as they have accused me of. Freemasons and Eastern Star have wiped out my business. I have a list of their names and they have all taken piano lessons from me and have all rejected me without cause.

I enjoy helping people with what seems like the impossible. Teaching piano, and seeing their faces light up with what they are able to accomplish with the piano. I am only able to respond to potential clients during the first week of each month due to being on a fixed income.

I opened my own piano teaching business while performing at Hibbard Memorial Baptist Church back in 1990. My goal was to teach the children of my church to experience the joy of learning to play piano as I did when I was 9 years old.

About the lesson

Interview process involves finding out the age, musical goals of the student. These goals consist of musical skill level, note readiness, ear training readiness, piano accomplishments, and method literature needed to accomplish these goals. Length of study is typically an ongoing month-to-month basis, based on the students' needed accomplishment. Some students like to learn to play only a few songs and a few chords, whereas others want to learn to read music, play by ear, and learn to play any song.

Adults and children from 4 years and up. Beginner, intermediate and advanced.

I would recommend that students ask lots of questions regarding the exactly piano goals they are wanting to accomplish. Look for someone who is dedicated, as I am, and who is willing to put themselves in the students' place when it comes to teaching and helping students understand theory and music.
