"Learn to play piano and compose!"

Check out some of my compositions below and see if you or your children would like to learn the secrets of creating your own music. To me, there's nothing more satisfying than composing your own music. It's like a musical diary, something that no one can take away from you and a work of art that you can turn to for memories, comfort or just to play!

I'm taking beginning students, all ages, 40 minutes, $25, weekly, in your home! Your student will learn to read music, music theory, composition, and to play, of course!! Call me at show contact info for availability.

I love seeing the progress students make from knowing absolutely nothing, too suddenly being able to read and play music! Every student is unique and I love being involved in their discovery of music, especially when they go on to compose their own music.

I began with teaching my own children, which is appropriate since I was my mother's vey first student.

I took private lessons for five years, and I have 25 + years of performing and composing.

About the lesson

I will usually find out what the student knows already and go from there in terms of getting curriculum that is appropriate.

Primarily beginning and advanced.

Know what you want to learn and why. So you want to know how to read, compose, understand music theory, play primarily classic, contemporary, blues, or jazz?

I founded an annual fundraising event for the Unitarian Universalist church in Fresno, Ca, called Principles in song, which featured original compositions aligned with a principle of the church. The event raised money for social justice causes.
