About Kristen

I have experience teaching people of ALL ages--beginning, intermediate, and early-advanced levels. I offer a comprehensive lesson involving training in technique, memorization, music history (as applicable), and music theory for those interested (generally older students). I am flexible and have the knowledge to adapt to the specific needs/challenges of each student. I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Dixie State University with my Bachelors in Music. I studied piano with Dr. Allred, the head of the piano department, for 6 years. I have taught lessons since 2010.

I graduated Magna Cum Laude with my Bachelors in Music from Dixie State University. As part of this degree I performed a memorized 45 min. Junior Recital and 50 min Senior Recital. I took classes in music theory, ear training, piano pedagogy, piano accompaniment, music history, and piano repetoire as well as took part in numerous recitals. I studied piano with Dr. Allred, the head of the piano department, for 6 years. I have taught piano lessons since 2010.

About the lesson

If you are coming to the first lesson as a beginner student, we will spend time on basics. If you have some background in music, we will get an idea of your level and find appropriate music to match. We will also go over studio policies so that we know what to expect from eachother. From there we will proceed with typical lessons.

I have worked with beginner children and beginner adults, all the way through late intermediate/early advanced level teens and adults.

Details

I charge $60 per month for a 30 min lesson each week. Intermediate or early-advanced students may wish to pay $80 per month for 45 min lessons.
