About Cheryl
As a piano teacher, my goal is to teach a life-long love of music. I have taught in two countries, three provinces. My teaching in Canada included teaching for examinations, and for competitions, as well as the youngsters who just wanted to start learning. My preferred starting age is 7, and my oldest students was in her late 80's. Music and teaching are my passion. I have an A.R.C.T. from the University of Toronto, Royal Conservatory of Toronto, and am Orff Certified through the University of Manitoba.
Over forty years experience.

My number one step is assessment. Even with a beginning student it can help to know what else they have going on, what are their favorite things, what are they hoping for? I frequently compose pieces that include pet names, or siblings, things that are going on in their life. I assess their direction and choose a course based on what feels best for them. I am comfortable with any of the current teaching methods.
