About Erica

Music is a long-time passion, and I would love to share what I know and have learned over the years with others. As it will be my future career I would love to start getting experience teaching piano. I have 10 yrs experience playing the piano, and have taken lessons from a variety of teachers. Several of my teachers have been/are college professors who are well-known in the area and around the country.

My achievements include:

Performed in music festivals in Europe, 2016 Grumo Festival

Winner of the 2018 Atlanta Steinway Society Scholarship

2016 runner-up of Joseph Maertz Scholarship Competition

Performed for GMTA(Georgia Music Teacher's Association) local and regional levels, 2014-2016

Performed for the National Federation of Music Clubs Festival, 2011-2016

I have taken private lessons with multiple teachers for the past 10 years. Currently I am attending Wesleyan College to obtain a degree in music, and I take lessons with Dr. Chenny Gan at the college.

About the lesson

First I would ask the student any things that want to focus on in their lessons, then pick out books and materials based on that. For beginners, I would start by teaching students basic foundational skills such as scales, chords, arpeggios. Also, giving them music theory exercises along with the music they would be learning.

Have currently not worked with any students yet.

Make sure that you and the teacher have a good connection because it will make learning more fun and easier.

One event I remember fondly was singing in my school's choir,a nd performing a big concert.
