About Aileen
My name is Aileen Sochor and I provide private piano lessons and academic tutoring to Minocqua residents and those in the surrounding area. I'm a music educator who has spent over 5 years working one-on-one with students ranging from 4-70 years old. My initial goal is to instill in students an understanding and appreciation for learning that will impact them for a lifetime. I teach private classical piano lessons that focus on note reading, music theory, musicanship, composition, collaboration, and music appreciation. I have expereience collaborating on the high school/college level and spent two years accompanying my local community choir and one year collaborating with college students.
Additionallly, I provide tutoring services to students K-5th grade. I love learning and want to help all my students succeed in academic areas they might struggle in or want to become better in. I offer tutoring services in English, Math, History, Science, and Reading.
I love seeing students succeed. Knowledge "breakthrough" moments are not only rewarding for me as a teacher, but also are very rewarding for the student! Moments of understanding make the material being studied more fun and enjoyable. When I as a teacher can make that happen on any level for a student, I feel very rewarded and fulfilled!

1) Speak with parents/guardians on the phone and and ascertain goals they want their child to achieve, give an overview of my background/teaching style, and explain policies and payment method.
2) Have a "get to know you meeting" with parents and student in order to get aquainted with the student and ascertain his/her learning needs.
3) Give parents/guardians a policy sheet and practice tips sheet for them to read through after the trial lesson.
4) Answer any questions parents/guardians might have.
5) Set up a weekly scheduled lesson with student either in person or via a social networking platform.
