About Anne

I personalize the lesson according to the students needs. We balance the lesson with improvisation, technical exercises, and new repertoire. I have been teaching for many years, and have a DMA.

I enjoy meeting people and working with everyone who has an interest in learning more about music. Every student is interesting and I like helping them achieve their goals.

Both parents were musicians, and my mother was an accomplished piano teacher.

B. Music, Masters of Music Performance, Doctorate of Musical Arts, performance.

Taught privately for 40 years, and for 7 years at Stetson University, DeLand, Florida.

About the lesson

I like to ask about their musical background, and what they would like to achieve with lessons. We also talk about interests and past work/studies. Then we select the type of pieces to study accoring to their level and interest.

All kinds - very young beginners (4), teens, adults, older seniors. All levels, from beginners to levels of performance, recitals, and exams.

I would suggest they make sure they have a piano in good working order, refresh your memory about which books you last studied from, and plan in advance a schedule that would allow you to practice daily.

My last student recital in May/16. All the students performed so well, and we finished off the event with a group meal at a nearby restaurant.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
They should think about what they want to accomplish through lessons, and whether they have time in their schedule to attend weekly lessons. Some do travel a lot, so we work aroung that too. Students should try to assess their level of ability and prepare with a little music that they once played quite comfortably.
