About Eri

17 years of experience in the United States. I have taught many music institutions including Noel Pointer Foundation and Church Street School of Music and Art.

Please visit my website www[dot]erimiyashita[dot]com (substitute dot with that symbol:) for more detailed bio and activities.

Lessons use 6'2"Steinway Grand which was completely reconditioned 3 years ago.

I have a totally flex approach to any genres, theory, age group(3 to 70), and skills.

I feel delighted when I could introduce something new to my students through piano lessons. When I hear "I Love playing the piano!".

I have gotten to know a variety of individuals who are outside of music and art field over the years as well. This way, I also learn different perspective from my students and broaden my views to the world.

Music has been essential in my life ever since I was very little. My passion is to share this great value of art with anyone who is interested.

I started teaching at one of the music schools in Lower Manhattan in 2003. Then I taught private students who were recommended by my professors etc.

Classical training since 3 years old. Earned Master's of Music in piano performance from Michigan State University School of Music.

About the lesson

I will have a run through session asking what type of music they like, what their goal, and favorite artists to get some ideas what kind of practice/tutorial they need.

How often they can access to the instrument for practice, or do they have time at all ( especially working adults ) etc.will also help me create a curiculum for each student.

Any genres except for people wanting to learn Jazz improvisation.

My piano student recital held in February 2020!

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
What are their favorite genres, any experiences in music before, how often they can spare time for practicing or reviewing the materials a week ( it is especially very important for younger ages)

Also, it is important for teachers to know if the student has the keyboard or piano at home to practice on.
