About Rebecca

I have two children who both attended Montessori preschool. While visiting the school and volunteering my time with extra music classes, I became extremely impressed by the implementation of the Montessori method. When I was able, I completed my Montessori training with AMS and found a position in the classroom. I began to offer piano lessons to the older students (ages 5-6), and found I really enjoyed this extra music sharing time. I began to teach lesssons out of my home after school. It has been a splendid addition!

I am a life long musician playing piano, classical guitar, and my newest instrument, the cello! I have been classically trained in vocal techniques and performed as a jazz vocalist for many years. I love to teach others and share my love of music. I have been teaching private music lessons for a few years and I am also a classroom teacher trained by the American Montessori Society. I hold a MACTE certification and have been an early childhood educator for 6 years.

About the lesson

Utilizing FaceTime, Google Duo, or Skype, we begin our first lesson with some introductions and getting to know you. I also like to hear if the student has any prior experience with their chosen instrument. This may include some ear training and musicianship activities, such as echo or repeat after me.

Most of my students are beginners. I have adult beginners and many child students, ranging in ages from 5-9.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Do you have an available instrument for lessons and practice?

Do you have a reliable internet connection?

Is there a quiet place where you can have your lesson and not disturb the others in your household who may be working?
