About Gabrielle
I remember learning piano for the first time and how much freedom it gave me. There is so much to be explored through music. I love passing this gift on to my students. Whether you're a casual learner or looking to delve deeper into music theory, classical or jazz music, I’m here to guide you.
I have been playing piano since I was 5, so 22 years now. I have gone through the entire Certificate of Merit process and passed each level with flying colors. I was trained classically first and once I had exceeded my classical teacher's capabilities, she sent me to two jazz teachers who opened the world of improvisation to me. I still count my last teacher as a close friend and we share a love of Mile Davis. My most recent performance piece was My Favorite Things (the McCoy Tyner version from the essential John Coltrane tune). I started teaching piano in high school and teaching has always been a passion of mine. I went on to get my Master's in education and now work in higher education, and I apply these principles to my piano tutelage. I can't wait to work with you! - Gabrielle
