About Brian

I am a passionate and piano-loving person, have been teaching piano lessons to students for over 10 years in Northern Virginia and now in the Seattle area.

I studied classical performance in college at George Mason University under the direction of the wonderful Dr. Anna Balakerskaia.

I am always excited to work with new students and develop their abilities and desire to play and make beautiful music on the piano.

I started teaching when I was in high-school to friends of my family who had children wanting to take piano lessons. I started taking piano lessons when I was five years old and have always had the desire to share the love I have for it with others.

About the lesson

My typical process begins with assessing what level the student is currently at, and what they are going to want to accomplish, working with the parents and student to determine these goals. From there I choose a series of methods books to work through, as well as other supplemental material and ear training exercises. I always try to incorporate some fun into the lessons and have a very laid back approach. I want the students to enjoy playing, but keep them focused so that they are able to learn.

I have worked with students of all ages, ranging from five years old all the way up to adult.
