Experienced tutor in Piano in Tumwater, Maureen offers private lessons tailored to your needs.

She is extremely patient with all of her students, it's evident she cares about them. She is also very good at pushing them to do more, while keeping it fun!

Maureen is amazing. She is great with kids from 5 to 85. She is all about teaching solid fundamentals, but also isn't afraid to let you explore areas and styles of music that interest you. She is very passionate about her students and her music, and has a way of stirring up that same passion in her students. Maureen is well respected in the community and by her peers and loved by all that know her. You can't put a price on the time spent with her exploring the wonders of music in a warm, friendly, encouraging environment. Whether you are beginner, a casual learner, or experienced/serious student, Maureen is the right choice for you and your family.

I was a piano teacher and due to season of life I had to quit giving lessons. I had three students who needed a recommendation for a new instructor and I suggested Maureen Johnson, of MJ Music Arts, based on good things I'd heard....and a phone conversation I'd had with her. She was extraordinarily welcoming and all 3 of my former students loved her and excelled with her. I'm thankful for the smooth and successful transition for these students. Maureen is a fantastic instructor and I highly recommend her.

Maureen was fabulous! She was so encouraging to me all the time. I really grew as a pianist and vocalist with Maureen as my teacher! I highly recommend MJ Music Arts.

Maureen was extremely patient with me and always pushed me to do better than I thought I ever could. I would highly recommend taking lessons from her!
