Experienced tutor in Piano in Wheaton, Matt offers private lessons tailored to your needs.

Matt teaches theory and performance. He holds our daughter accountable when she has not done what was asked of her. He is kind but not soft. Our daughter enjoys his lessons and has made great progress under his tutelage.

My 7th grade son was inspired to also start lessons with Matt after listening to his younger brother practicing. He had already taken lessons when he was younger so he asked if Matt would teach him how to find and play chords to songs that could be sung along to- and Matt taught him this specific skill. I highly recommend Sandleback Music Studio! Matt is talented, a good teacher and educator, is flexible with schedules, and works well with kids and motivating them to learn to play and enjoy piano.

My third grade son started his introduction to piano with Matt last May. We appreciated that he offered the first meeting free of charge to see if it was a good fit. And it has been! Matt is a talented young man who seems to very much enjoy teaching music to others. Along with using piano lesson books, Matt has had my son work on learning a song of interest to him- so he's learned to play Star Wars and Harry Potter songs. This makes practicing a little more fun!

My daughter Hannah met Matt at Hubble Middle School, and she was so impressed by his teaching style! She’s declined the option for private lessons time after time … until now, when she came home and asked if I’d contact you about instruction.

My daughter is a new student of Mr. Sandleback's. Although she has only had a few lessons there are some positive results and aspects to his teaching that have helped her improve already. I appreciate the variety of strategies he uses in order to fit her needs. I also like the fact that he incorporates music appreciation and theory teachings into his lessons. Finally, his patience is commendable. He does a wonderful job making my daughter feel comfortable and help her realize mistakes are not a bad thing. I have no doubt that with continued instruction, Mr. Sandleback will help her improve even more.

My daughter started lessons with Matt last summer. It was the best thing we’ve done! She’s excited about lessons, he makes it fun and she even loves practicing. Matt’s flexibility with a 7th graders crazy schedule and his love for making her succeed and become an even better flutist make me recommend him to anyone!
