About Amanda

I am passionate about every student being able to learn and working with them to find techniques that work. I have access to research based curricula to assist in reading, and 6 years within the classroom teaching students of all levels. I've recently finished my PhD in special education where I focused on learning disabilities and behavioral problems.

I loved working with students and creating new materials to access their strengths and needs. Every student learns concepts in a different way and can excel if you work with them to access their strenghts.

I have a Bachelors in mild to moderate disabilities, a masters in severe disabilities, and my PhD in learning disabilities and behavioral disorders.

About the lesson

Talking with the student and parent about what their goals are and then initially seeing where their strengths are to decide where we start.

I've worked with students with many different disabilities, mostly students on the autism spectrum and with learning disabilities.
