I began tutoring about a year ago, but that has picked up the pace amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
I am in the process of obtaining my Master of Arts in Teaching at the University of South Carolina.

Getting to know them by asking questions: What are their hobbies? What kinds of books do they like to read? What is their day like at school (or not, due to COVID-19 restrictions?
I have served as a babysitter/nanny for children of all ages. I have tutored children ages 5-10.
Make reading a hobby! It is so much more than a subject at school. Build it into everything you do.
A child for whom I nanny has started to ask me to read aloud to him during the day instead of choosing to watch television.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Think about the books you like to read and specifically why you like to read them. This tells you a lot about who you are as a student and outside the classroom.
