I graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park with a degree in Neurobiology and Physiology. There, I was a teaching assistant for a class on developing countries and biostatistics.

I like to first assess their learning style—whether it is visual, verbal, or hands-on. Then, I will begin by giving test questions to gauge their level of knowledge on the topic. If there is an issue with specific knowledge, then we will start with that. If I determine the student has the knowledge, I will try to help with the application of the knowledge and test-strategy ability.
