About Chelsea
I am excited to partner with students to help them reach their full potential as a vocalist. From opera to musical theater, to everywhere in between, my passion is to help others realize they have a voice.
We will first talk about what your interests and goals are and move forward in developing strategies to reach those goals. I like to start small and work towards reasonable goals one step at a time.
I have been a vocalist for over ten years and was classically trained in college. I now have a degree in music therapy - BMT (Bachelor of Music Therapy), but have had a solid vocal performance foundation from an extremely talented professor during my time in the university. I have sung at the Dali Museum in St. Petersburg, FL, invited to sing with faculty at St. Petersburg College, gone to nursing homes across FL to provide music to those in need, and finished a 6-month internship doing hospice music therapy.
I look forward to helping you reach your dreams and aspirations as a vocalist professionally and personally. It is important that we stay focused on the goal, but have fun on our way there.
I love seeing people reach their goals and move on to big opportunities. Helping people was what drew me to my own degree and I believe it takes a team of dedicated individuals to lead and guide a person towards their full potential. The process can be difficult, but breaking it down and making it manageable is the secret to success. If you persist and dedicate everything to your goals, they will happen. I am a true testament of that. I spent many years trying to grasp a dream, got knocked down so many times, and wanted to give up more times than I care to admit. But can I tell you something? It takes a village to reach your dreams and life may seem to always get in the way, but don't let it! Trust the process and remain committed and you will reap the benefits in the end...I PROMISE!
After extensive training, my professors all encouraged me to begin teaching voice lessons to students as a way to increase my experience and grow as a vocalist. Some of my friends were interested in having voice lessons so I started small and did a few whenever time permitted. My courseload was extremely large and juggling everything was difficult at times. After transferring to a university in FL, my professors said I had had enough training to begin teaching. I began teaching in 2016 while continuing my personal education as a music therapy major.
I have a bachelor's degree in Music Therapy - also known as a BMT. I have done a Junior recital singing eleven songs in six different languages. Traveled across FL providing music to seniors in assisted living and nursing homes, taught voice lessons in college and lead worship at a church for two and a half years on piano and vocals.

I have worked with female students mostly because of common interests and goals. While in college, girls would want to have lessons because of different performances they would attend that I would be in.
I would encourage anyone to do their own research. If you are looking for someone who is intentional and strategic with time management, organized, patient, kind, professional, and skilled, I am skilled in those areas and would love to help develop your interests as someone once did for me. I believe in support and being goal oriented while maintaining balance personally and professionally.
A recent event I am fond of was singing in a small production at my university. The professors leading the cast and guiding the vocal process were highly skilled and talented. I enjoyed working with them and developing personal skills as a student and aspiring vocalist.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Is this a career development choice or a hobby?
Where do I see myself 6 months from now and are vocal lessons integrated into my plan?
Is this a smart financial decision?
What am I hoping to gain from this experience?
What are my goals professionally and personally and are vocal lessons helping me to target those goals?
Why am I choosing vocal lessons?
