About Mary
With 5 years of experience teaching students from various ages and backgrounds, Mary Hoskins works with her students unique gifts to help discover their fullest potential. No previous experience, natural talent, or musical prowess required!! Even professional singers have a next level of greatness. Mary will help you reach it. As a highly accomplished singer, Mary also works on her students performance practices so that they feel fully prepared to stand on stages big and small and perform--just for joy.
I received my master's degree in vocal performance from Brigham Young University where I also did my undergraduate work. There, I taught university voice classes and students. I have also attended Dolora Zajick's Institute for Young Dramatic Singers for two summers and recently attended Wolf Trap Opera this past Summer. However, perhaps my greatest teacher behond these programs and classes has been actually teaching for the past 5 years with students in my neighborhood and beyond.

I like to begin with a quick chat about your goals and dreams before we jump into singing! I like to work both with exersizes to strech and get to know your technique and then we'll chat and play at tweaking a few things. I also love when students bring a song they just love, in the style they want to sing. As they sing for me I can get an idea of what your about and hopefully you get to know what I'm about!

Mary is an amazing teacher! She's great for beginning students or experienced singers. No matter what you will be singing better by the time she's through with you.
Mary was such a good voice teacher to be able to work with. She pushes you to stretch and grow, and are almost guaranteed to improve and see a change in yourself and your ability. I now work with another voice teacher and have been told my range is high and broad. This is all due to Mary and her skills to help you understand concepts to develop your vocal skill. Not only is she amazing at teaching, she is happy and pleasant and encouraging. She knows how to teach you so you’re able to sing correctly.
