About Victoria
My name is Victoria Hardy Khalil and I have been teaching voice lessons for almost 3 years. I love seeing my students succeed and I try to give them the best training possible, because I believe they deserve the best. I have a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from Brigham Young University. I have trained with world-renowned voice teachers Darrell and Jenny Babidge, Kerilyn Johnson, and Korianne Orton Johnson. I also coach with Dallas Opera coach Rebecca Pacheco. I am trained in both classical/opera and musical theater mix/belt/legit, pop, and jazz. I have performed many opera and musical theater roles to critical acclaim both in the United States and in Europe.
My mission is to teach my students to sing in the most exciting, beautiful, healthy way possible and to equip them with important musical skills. I also want them to be great actors and performers. Last of all, I train them to be indepedent learners.
I provide frequent performing opportunities for my students, both in person and virtual.
I want my students to reach their full potential not only in their singing, but in their lives.
I started teaching when I was a junior in the Vocal Perofmrance program at Brigham Young University. I started teaching just one student and didn't really know what I was doing at first. Then I took classes in my program that trained me on teaching, and I gained more voice students and confidence. After graduating, I tripled my voice studio, and it has continued to grow and blossom. I have discovered that not only do I have a passion for teaching, but I also have a knack for it.
I have a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from Brigham Young University. I trained with world-renowned teachers, including Juillard teacher Darrell Babidge, Met Opera Star Jennifer Welch Babidge, contemporary voice teachers Korianne Johnson, M.M, and Kerilyn Johnson. I have also coached with Dallas opera coach Rebecca Pacheco.

In a trial lesson, I start off getting to know the new student. I ask them about their past musical training, singing goals, and what styles/repertoire they want to work on. Then they sing something for me so I can get to know their voice. I take them through a series of body warm-ups and vocalises. All the while I am taking diagnostic notes so that I can plan how best to help them moving forward. I may introduce a basic music concept. We return to their song from the beginning and I start working with them on their technique, using the song. Finally, we make a plan for the future. I will usually send them a list of songs to listen to and choose from to start working on or I will have them send me a list of songs they want to work on.
I have worked with all types of students, from age 5 to 55. I have worked with novice students all the way to university students studying music. I have taught both males and females, and have worked with all different voice types.
I would say look at their philosophies first. If they resonate with you, check their reviews and see what their students say about them. If you're pleased with all of that, go ahead and do a trial lesson. You can do trial lessons with as many teachers as you want, until you find the one that is a good match. You will feel if it's right. It's magical. :-)
A couple of months ago we held an outdoor socially distant concert and it was an amazing success. We had a beautiful backdrop of mountains, and performed in a gorgeous outdoor gazebo. Many students got to perform for an audience of friends and family--some for the first time! It was a lot of fun and my students really grew from the experience.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Students should come prepared with their goals for singing, their expectations for their teacher, and any questions they have about their voice.
