About Sandra
Vocal specialist and accredited teacher with over 25 years experience. (Refer to my many great reviews on Thumbtack.) I particularly love working with teens and tweens in musical theater and classical literature such as opera and art song. My students frequently earn awards and have successful auditions for local musicals, college entry and grad work.
I have taught voice in various venues for over 25 years and hold degrees from UCF and Florida State University. I am classically trained in voice and have performed and produced musical theater with off-Broadway director Ken Eulo. Additionally, I stay up to date with the latest methods and vocal science.
My studio offers you flexibility. Pay as you go. No contracts, no registration fee, no recital fee.
Located in Winter Springs, my rates are $30 per half hour. One hour lessons (50 min.) are $50.

I love being a part of developing excellence in my students, to watch them grow in musicianship and confidence. I tailor each lesson to the needs of that student. For recitals, I usually hire a professional accompanist so that I can be part of the audience, enjoying all that we have accomplished together.
I taught Chorus at Trinity Preparatory School in Winter Park, Florida for a number of years. After becoming involved in many theatrical performances, I was recruited by a professional who noticed how well I coached actors to sing in a musical I had written. Success there led to continuing studies in voice pedagogy at several universities.
I am an accredited vocal instructor with over 25 years of experience in teaching singing. I have degrees from UCF and FSU and have done post-graduate training at Shenadoah University and Northwestern. (CCM and CME, respectively) I also taught chorus and music at Trinity Preparatory School in Winter Park.

First, I make sure the student feels welcome and knows what is available to him/her, including the rest room.
Second, we explore range, pitch, and tonal memory during vocal warm-ups to prepare for singing.
Third, I introduce the student to vocal technique that makes singing easier and more fun.
Finally, we apply vocal technique to a song to see if these techniques are effective in achieving an efficient result.
I have taught all kinds of students of various ages, but I find working with developing voices to be the most rewarding. I try to keep availability open to the more aspiring middle school and high school singers who enjoy musical theater or classical art song/opera.

I love singing in my a cappella group, Acapella Singers. I also love, LOVE the recitals, where I can sit back and enjoy all the progress my students have made. (Recitals are optional and provided at no cost. No pressure.)
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Am I willing to learn to sing with healthy technique, to practice regularly and learn to read the music?
Very young singers (3-10) are strongly encouraged to take piano and, if possible, join a local chorus or choir before investing in private voice lessons.

Mrs. Sandra Lacey is very patient, as well as knowledagble with techniques that are easy to learn and remember. She also allows for mistakes to be made without having a feeling of embarrassment.
She is extremely good and a joy to work with! Many talented vocalists of all ages have excelled with her training. She makes it fun, but will teach you very useful technical skills. I highly recommend her for all levels and ages.

Details
Generally, half hour lessons are $28 (28 minutes) and I will usually go over that by a few minutes. These are recommended for most students.
50-minute lessons are recommended for high-school and colledge students, and adults who would like more time to hone their craft.
I strongly suggest weekly lessons, but the day and time is flexible to accommodate changing schedules.
