About Kevin

I've been skateboarding for 20 years. It's my number one passion and I enjoy sharing it with others. To me the most satisfying part about teaching others how to skate is watching the progress from the beginning of the session to the end... A lot can be learned in the first hour alone! I very much enjoy giving detailed instructions on how to do certain tricks and then watching it happen! There's nothing more fulfilling to me than watching someone use my advice to help them learn cool, new tricks.

A friend of mine asked me to teach their kid how to do some tricks! I really enjoyed it and thought maybe I could make something of it.

I've worked with after school skate programs and summer skate camps over the past two years. I'm currently focusing on private lessons as of late.

About the lesson

The first thing I like to figure out is how they want to stand on the board and ride. If your left foot is up front, you ride regular. If your right foot is up front, you're goofy footed. Once we've figured that out we start with pushing correctly and foot positioning while riding...

I've worked with children from ages 4-15 and adults from 25-40! Skateboarding's popularity has risen a ton this year and I'm here to help anyone and everyone learn how to do it!

The main piece of advice I'd give to someone interested in skateboarding lessons would be to show up excited and with an open mind. Don't expect to be able to do it all right away. Skateboarding takes time to learn just like anything else.

I recently watched three students go from hardly being able to stand on a board to dropping in on a quarter pipe within three weeks!

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
There are so many good questions to ask and I love answering them! My main focus is to keep my students motivated and stoked to be learning more and more things on a board... One good question at the start would be, "How should I stand on the board?"

Deadly! Kev is a fantastic teacher. He is very kind and patient with beginners, and he makes my son feel really relaxed and at ease. I would highly recommend him for even the most timid of students. He is also great with kids. My son really really likes him.

Deadly! Great teacher! Those words even came out of a 6yo! Really works on getting you into your comfort zone so that you build your confidence as you learn. He's good with both kids and adults! Not even a little snicker as he watched a grown up hit pavement less than two minutes into the lesson. His tips for riding are spot on and he also helped with what the right kind of board and setup to get.. Highly professional and very respectful. I highly recommend! 👍👍
