About Haley

Hello! My name is Haley and I have always enjoyed studying languages, both English and Spanish. For me, language is a tool that can be used to connect with people. Learning a second language can open that door even more. I know it can be overwhelming to learn a new language. I used to be very shy and embarrassed when I learned Spanish. But I learned the most important thing you can do when learning a language is to get comfortable with it and practice. I want to help you do that. I want to help you gain confidence and feel comfortable speaking English or Spanish. I have studied Spanish for more than six years, have a bachelor's degree in Hispanic Studies and have also spent more than 10 months living abroad in México. I have volunteered to interpret for the Spanish-speaking community in my area. With Spanish, I can help with pronunciation, verb tenses, conversation, preparation for presentations, beginner, high school, college, advanced. English is my native language and I also have a TESOL certificate. I feel comfortable working with all ages. If you have any questions please feel free to ask! Thank you!

I enjoy connecting with people and helping people learn. Making progress while learning a language is always exciting to me, even the smallest steps. I love seeing things from different perspectives and langauge exchange allows for that to happen

I got started in the community interpreting English and Spanish

I have a bachelor's degree in Hispanic Studies and Global Studies and a TESOL certificate.

About the lesson

When working with someone new I will spend time getting to know them, ask them what goals they have and what they want to learn and also see where they are or what they struggle with so that we can figure out where to begin.

I have worked with children and adults and also people in situations that require discretion.

You should hire a tutor that you feel comfortable learning with and someone who pushes you to continue and practice.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
They should think about what personal goals they have, why they have interest in learning English or Spanish, areas that they struggle with, areas they feel more confident in, in what situations they will be using the language
