About Lauren

Hi! My name is Lauren Vendola and I am a third to fifth grade Spanish teacher in Lyndhurst, New Jersey. Since I was younger, I have always been passionate about teaching. I used to tutor in high school, but have not tutored professionally. This is now my fifth year teaching and I have experience teaching Spanish from grades 3-8. I am currently responsible for about 550 students, as I am the only third to fifth grade Spanish teacher in my town. This position and its important responsibilities have made me skilled in patience, time management, and flexibility. I would love to bring my knowledge of the Spanish language to even more students as I begin tutoring. Although I do not have much professional tutoring experience, I have tutored in the past, as I mentioned earlier. My junior and senior years of high school I would meet with students a few times a week after school to help them with their homework and curriculum. In college, I spent a semester in Salamanca, Spain where I took Spanish classes at the University of Salamanca, interned at a bilingual elementary school, and tutored my host parents' niece a few times a week to help her learn English. I graduated from Quinnipiac University with my bachelors in Spanish in 2016 and earned an award for having the highest GPA in my major. Then, in 2017 I completed my masters program also at Quinnipiac and received my Masters of Arts in teaching. I am a very hard worker and would love to bring that into this new job.

As a Spanish teacher, I enjoy working with my students and giving them the knowledge necessary to acquire Spanish as a second language. There is nothing more rewarding to me than being the reason more doors and opportunities will open for my students in the future. I understand the importance of learning a second language, not only for interpersonal communication with those who do not speak English, but also for its benefits it has on the mind. I will work with any new students I tutor for homework help, extra practice on units they are covering in school, and anything else they may be struggling with in Spanish.
