About Angelica
Growing up, I was surrounded by diversity. Every day was a clash of different cultures. I always enjoyed learning about different peoples backgrounds and teaching them my own. I found one of the best way to do this was to teach them Spanish. I was raised speaking, reading and writing in Spanish, it was my primary language. For me, studying and teaching Spanish was a way to connect to my community. I loved immersing my self in my spanish classes in high school and was fortunate enough to be awarded the California State seal of bilateracy as well as the LAUSD seal of biliteracy.
Knowing I can help people with learning a language that plays such a large role in my culture means a lot to me. I enjoy seeing people light up when they begin to realize that they are coming to understand a new language and a whole new world opens up to them.
