About Audrey

I offer Spanish language lessons. As someone who learned Spanish as a second language, I understand the difficult aspects of learning this language. I have experience with several dialects including Peruvian, Costa Rican, and Mexican.

I want to help others reach their potential in Spanish and grow in their conversational skills.

I have experience in tutoring a variety of subjects, including languages. I am trained in tutoring, with abilities to cater to all learning types and backgrounds.

I love helping students find joy in language learning. Watching students hit "light-bulb moments" is always so encouraging for both the tutor and tutee. I believe so much in the need for bilingual speakers, especially in Spanish. I want to contribute to a growing population of multilingual speakers.

The tutoring center on Oklahoma State's campus utilizes students for organized tutoring. I have tutored chemistry courses through this center. During my semester abroad in Costa Rica, I tutored a local in English language lessons.

I have a minor in Spanish from Oklahoma State University. After 4 years of Spanish courses in high school, 1 year at the university, and 5 months in Perú and Costa Rica I am able to use my Spanish language as a translator and in tutoring.

I am a certified tutor through the College Reading and Learning Association with 3 years of tutoring experience, 1 of which is in languages.

About the lesson

We work together to learn the comfort level the student has with Spanish. From that foundational point, I use a variety of mediums to expose the student to Spanish. These mediums including music, TV shows, and topic-based conversation using specific vocabulary.

I have worked with university students ages 17+ who are pursuing degrees in the subjects I tutor. Additionally, I have worked with varying levels of language knowledge in Spanish and can aid a variety of ranges.

Look for someone who is enthusiastic about their work and helping you to the best of their abilities. Find a tutor who allows you to make mistakes without feeling nervous or insecure. It is so important to have confidence in the Spanish that you do know to progress forward.

My study abroad in Costa Rica was a life-changing experience in which I gained respect for cultures and ways of life outside my own. I grew in friendship and self-knowledge throughout my adventures.
