About Berit

Gentle power. Relaxed strength. Yin and Yang. Diciplined power and creativity.This is what Chen tai chi, the oldest form of tai chi is all about. Knowing yourself through discovery of yourself by meditating while moving; so that your Mind is residing inside of your Form.All of this is Chen tai chi.

I am a tai chi practitioner with over 20 years of experience, and a student of Grandmaster Ren Guang Yi for over 15 years. My teachers teacher, Grandmaster Chen Xiaowang is the 19th Generation linage holder of Chen style tai chi ch’uan. I participated in his seminars as well as in seminars of Doctor Yang Jwing-Ming.

In 2017 I was featured in one of four documentaries, Four Seas, directed by You Jun of CCTV ( Central Chinese Television), which was proadcasted on national television in mainland China.

I currently teach classes at the Fencing Center in the Hat Factory in Peekskill and private lessons in Northern Westchester and Putnam Valley. During summer I give seminars in France and teach lessons in Paris, France.

Tai chi is one of my passions in life. It is wonderful to share it with others while teaching. But most of all I actually truly enjoy the process of teaching itself.

What a wonderful experience to meet women and men eager to learn a new skill, which might change their lifes. It is such a joy and reward to follow my students’ progress.

Teaching always remains interesting. Each student is different, has different needs and evolves in his or her proper rhythm. My students’ involvment and interest make me the teacher I am. There is always something new to be learned for every student as well as for me.

Tai chi lessons offered by Berit are tailored to each student's needs and level. Lessons can also be held online. Lessons are also available in Peekskill. The first lesson is free to define learning goals and methodology.
