About Annissa
I am a passionate, enthusiastic, and highly qualified musician and teacher. I draw from multiple teaching methods, as well as years of personal experience, to help students advance efficiently, while enjoying the process.
I absolutely love teaching music. Learning how to play an instrument is extremely difficult, but helping students through the (challenging) process of learning and playing music is the most rewarding experience I can imagine, for both student and teacher!
My bachelor's degree is in Music Performance (viola), and I have master's degrees in Music Performance and Pedagogy (violin/viola), and Music Education. I'm a certified K-12 teacher in strings/music, and a registered Suzuki teacher. I'm also certified in Kodaly, Music Mind Games, and Music Together. I have been teaching privately for over 10 years, and currently run two different youth orchestra programs in Oregon.

It's important to me that the process is student-driven, in terms of the students' goals and reasons for wanting to study a musical instrument. Thus, initially it's important for me to establish what a student wants to get out of the experience, and then go from there with repertoire and technique.
I have worked with all ages and skill levels of students. I am comfortable teaching students as young as 4 years old and up!
