About David
I have had students achieve success in the music ensembles in their schools and in the Chattanooga Symphony Youth Orchestras, and have had students go on to more advanced teachers to even greater successes. i have worked with string programs in local schools to help students progress both individually and collectively as an ensemble. I have watched with great enthusiasm over the last 30 years as my students progressed in music and life. It turns out that music skills are much the same as life skills. I have a B.Mus. and M.Mus. from UTC.

We begin by learning to hold the bow properly. It is not so much holding continuously, but placing properly in the hand. This requires proper repetition. Once proper placement is established, holding as a matter of endurance, and control of the bows direction and orientation is established. Simultaneously we are working on holding the violin itself. Placement on the shoulder and turning the head to rest it on the violin. Proper placement, again, requires repetition. Then endurance holding it. we then put bow and violin together.
