About Katarzyna

I am a classically-trained violinist who moved to the U.S. from my native Poland. I have worked as a violinist in a professional symphony orchestra for more than 20 years. Complementary to all my performance activities, I have passionately pursued my interest in teaching since my years of study at the Academy of Music where I specialized in pedagogy and performance. I'm certified The Royal Conservatory of Music teacher.

I particularly enjoy working with young children who are uniquely malleable and excited to learn the violin. I firmly believe that teaching music is an activity which not only trains children to play their instrument well, but in a more holistic way, shapes their values and character

Master of Music in Violin Performance and Pedagogy (Warsaw Academy of Music)
Violinist (Podlasie Opera and Philharmonic -- European Art Center, Bialystok)

Member of the Sotto Voce String Quartet

Music Mind Games Teacher Training Workshop 1 and 2

About the lesson

I cater the teaching method to the needs of each student on an individual basis. Children often require a greater amount of creative play and activities which reward accomplishment and concentrated effort.

Adults may often have more specific goals as to what they wish to accomplish, such as improving a particular technique, or re-discovering a previously learned work.

Some of my students wish to participate in festivals and competitions for which I can prepare them.

Deadly! Mrs. Cieslik is just wonderful with child. My kid (10 yr old) is still going to her for lessons every Sunday and continues to learn violin music and I see her being more confident. I would definitely recommend Mrs. Cieslik.

Deadly! Pleasantly surprised of how easy Ms. CIeslik works with me; I say this because I am what I call myself an intermediate beginner who started to playing three years ago this month. With two lessons with her under my belt and she has already shown me new techniques. Excellent teacher and great professional that truly teaches her students with no reservations. I highly recommend her.

Deadly! Katarzyna is an excellent teacher and I am very glad to have found her! I haven't played the violin in two years and I immediately felt comfortable and more prideful on my abilities to regain my skills.

Deadly! Honestly the best!! We loved her from minute one!

Ruby's interest has doubled and it has shown in her practice time!
It's a joy listening to my 14yr strive to perfect her lessons and I can't wait for her first concert in less than 2 months!
Katarzyna picked a beautiful piece that challenges Ruby, yet would be able to include her in the upcoming recital.
I wish we were able to stay in Miami longer JUST to have Ruby continue in her studies under Katarzyna!! She is very in tune (no pun intended) to Ruby's abilities as well as her shyness and was able to win Ruby's trust over almost immediately.
I highly recommend Katarzyna Cieslik :)
