About Samuel
I hold three degrees in violin performance and am a faculty member at Baldwin Wallace University Conservatory of Music and Oberlin College Community Music School. I have been teaching violin to students of all ages and levels for more than 25 years, currently both online and in person. My students have been principles of violin sections in youth and All-State orchestras, have been admitted to prestigious summer music festivals, and have been receipients of college music scholarships.
I love the violin and working with people, and love diving into the creative process of helping my students reach their personal goals and feel inspired and gratified by their accomplishments. Whether you are looking to learn violin from the beginning or excell to a more advanced level, I am confident that I can help you reach your goals.

Whether meeting a beginner or a student with experience, the first lesson begins with a conversation in which I learn about my new student, his or her musical background with music, and personal vision and goals for the work we will do together. We then proceed accordingly by putting together a regimen of materials and a practice routine that best suits the student's individual needs.

Life-changing experience! It is a place where you first start as a scared lamb or an over-excited moron, but the difference is that you finish strong and well-prepared for the world out the
We toured BW this past June. Our daughter is pursuing Musical Theatre. We were on campus yesterday for her audition. The parents were treated to a wonderful lunch and Caroline's audition experience was AWESOME.
My daughter just graduated today and I couldn't be happier. She is leaving this community better and stronger! She's studied abroad, participated in her community, and had the opportunity to be a leader in many arenas. BW may not be the biggest school but it offered the most for my child. She is now a proud alumni and ready to tackle anything.
Its beautiful campus speaks volumes with its historical and well kept buildings, surrounded by metro parks and beautiful homes, not to mention a small town with lots to offer. Our tour guides who are also present students there, only highlighted the campus atmosphere displaying spirit and pride for the university. Can't wait for our daughter to attend!
Great visit, beautiful campus! The tour was great and lots of great information!
Beautiful campus, everyone was so friendly. We were there twice now to visit and audition. I have only heard positive comments from students, staff and alumni.
It is a very beautiful and charming campus! My son attends there and he is getting a very solid education in Broadcasting Communications. I'm impressed with the experience; expectations, and overall educational foundations.
I highly recommend this awesome university!
My only hope is that they will strongly support his job search when he completes his studies.
We are both happy and proud that he is a yellow jacket !!!!!!!!The study of an MBA at the Baldwin Wallace Business School. it's a great program that includes Management, Entrepreneurship, Human Resources, Business Analytics and International Business
BW is a fabulous school for those who are self motivated. It is definitely a cut above other schools with its long history. My education there has carried me far and even instilled good ethics unto my children and beyond. Ivy League of the Midwest !
Advisors, professors, academics, music, sports and social events are AAA +.

Campus is beautiful, faculty members are so encouraging, and there are so many opportunities & programs to choose from! It is truly a wonderful school. Highly recommend.
Dr. Rotberg was able to connect with my daughter in a professional and caring manner. She was engaged and excited to learn from the very first lesson. He spoke to her with great respect and she enjoyed learning new material. The improvement was steady and strong because of his consistent gentile and caring attitude. Dr. Rotberg helped her gain confidence through skill based strategies and by the end of her lessons, she was more confident and it really showed in her playing. Overall, Dr. Rotberg was just what my daughter needed; a kind and incredibly talented educator.
My 14-year old daughter and 11-year old son have been studying the violin with Dr. Rotberg for over 3 years. He has done a great job helping the kids develop their knowledge and skills on the instrument. Dr. Rotberg is a professional, caring teacher and mentor who's very dedicated and works hard on developing the fundamentals, finger and bowing techniques. At the same time he is very patient, encouraging and creative during these challenging times. Dr. Sam keeps the lessons instructive and fun. He is an amazing violin teacher and we feel so lucky to have found a teacher who provides our kids with a high quality music education. I would recommend Dr. Sam Rotberg to anyone who is passionate about the violin.
Mr Rotberg is not only enormously talented but is a very caring teacher who takes the time to make a sincere, personal connection with his students. The care he has for each person shows through even in virtual lessons. We greatly enjoy having him as a teacher and our student has made huge strides in learning since we began his lessons. We highly recommend him!
I'm a professional pianist and have been taking lessons with him for 5 years now. When I first started, my technique was very shaky, and I didn't have any confident of playing in public. But he has been teaching me patiently and nicely and giving me right instruction to fix my bad habit. Now I feel my technique has improved. He is also experienced in teaching many kids who have been taking lessons with him for years. If you are looking for a teacher for yourself or your kids, I believe he will give you valuable lessons.
He is very patient and accommodating, and he always works very hard with his students to bring out the best in them. He has taught two of my sons, and was always extremely helpful when preparing them for an audition. Last year he helped my eldest son get a music scholarship to his first year in college.
He is very knowledgeable about music. And he is always pleasant when giving correction and always punctual with lessons.
