About Phyllis
Started studying and playing the violin at age 7. Have played in numerous orchestras over the years. Solid background in violin technique. Also play cello, self taught.
Watching students' progress from week to week.
I love the violin. Just wanted to share what I have learned with others.
11 years private violin lessons. Currently working part-time at a local music store as their violin/cello teacher. I teach beginning through advanced violin students and beginning through intermediate cello students.

Learning the parts of the violin and bow. Learning to read music. Proper hold of the instrument. Beginners start learning to play music Pizzicato style, then with the bow! Easy step by step instructions.
Ages 6-71 currently. Some have been autistic and mentally/physically challenged.
Hire someone who focuses on violin technique. Also, hire a teacher who is compassionate and understanding of a student's goals and capabilities.
A Recital a year ago featuring my cello student who had been taking lessons less than a year.
She now plays her cello in a chamber orchestra
