I have been working with her for almost 6 years now and she has completely transformed my voice! I had always been afraid of the high notes. Finding out I was writing my songs and melodies in a key that was too low for my ideal register was honestly life changing. It further improved my career path and set me up for success on a major scale. I met Marilee a few years ago knowing very little about singing. Over the past few years, she strengthened my voice and my confidence by providing me with weekly singing/songwriting lessons. Her strategies for improving vocal skills are fantastic and easy to follow. I was surprised by the how quickly she was able to find which areas I lacked and which areas I was capable in and using that to cater the lesson plan to me. I started working with Marilee because I had wanted to take singing lessons since I was young, but had never done so. I had always loved to sing, but without training, I didn't know how to properly use my voice, control my breathing, and I just wasn't sure if I had the potential or ability to get the sound I hoped for. Marilee changed all of that. After working with her for over a year, I've gained ability, confidence, control and my vocal range has expanded to where I now actually sound like I know what I'm doing. I've also started learning ukulele, which I had never planned on doing, but now I'm learning how to play and sing together which is quite enjoyable! I'm so happy with my progress, I wouldn't have been able to do this without Marilee. She is a wonderful, highly experienced teacher and has really pushed me to reach my potential, but does so without causing stress or pressure. Her warmth and passion for music fosters a wonderful environment in which to learn. I couldn't be happier and highly recommend working with her!
