About Jim

Watching athletes listen, learn and execute what is taught with solid results in their play. Then watching and listening to their accomplishments on the court in club and high school or middle school.

I break volleyball down to very simple, but effective lessons to make you a better player.

I've played beach volleyball for 17 years, coached my own kids in beach and indoor volleyball. I'm AAU, USAV and JVA certified. I've taken two different teams to three successive state high school volleyball championships and was just named the 2021 North Carolina Volleyball Coaches Association, Coach of the Year. My club teams excel and compete nationally winning Super Regionals and plaing high in Gold at national qualifiers like Big South and Sunshine Classic.

About the lesson

A simple email or phone call to discuss their needs and goals. We meet at the Rock Hill Sports & Events Center, parent's welcome in to watch.

Then we'll work on your specific needs from passing, setting, digging, to hitting and serving. I also video each student and go over the videos with them and share these videos with the players/parents.

From beginners to expert players that play in college.

I was struggling to make a national team. I had the love and determination and basic volleyball skills. Coach Jim saw this in me and in a year's time I went from a regional team to his national team and was recruited by Catawba College, and play for them today. Thanks coach Jim

Jim is extremely knowledgeable, pushes the players, but allows them to make mistakes. Makes the lessons fun, yet they learn and retain the lesson so well.
