About Ameillia

Hi, I'm Ameillia! I'm currently studying A-Level Science and applying to study Medicine. Alongside my own studies, I've spent the last 3 years tutoring, helping students build both the confidence and the skills they need to succeed.

Last year, I tutored students who went on to secure places at selective schools through the 11+, and I know how much hard work and preparation goes into getting there — for both the student and the family. I take the time to understand each child's individual strengths and areas to work on, so lessons are focused and effective rather than one-size-fits-all.

I've also worked with students with SEN (special educational needs) and adapt my teaching style to suit different learning needs. I'm DBS checked and safeguarding trained, so parents can feel completely reassured.

Beyond just exam prep, I care about helping students feel calm and confident going into the 11+ — not just knowledgeable, but genuinely ready.

About the lesson

I focus on building both the subject knowledge and the exam technique students need for 11+ success. This means covering the core areas — verbal reasoning, non-verbal reasoning, maths, and English — while also practising under timed conditions so students feel confident and prepared on the actual exam day. I use past papers and realistic mock questions throughout, since familiarity with question style makes a huge difference at 11+ level.

Lesson length: Lessons typically run for 60 minutes, giving enough time to cover new content and practise exam-style questions without overwhelming younger students.

Experience: Last year, I tutored students who went on to secure places at selective schools through the 11+, and I tailor my teaching to each child's strengths and areas for improvement. I'm DBS checked and safeguarding trained, so parents can feel fully reassured.

Who it's for: My lessons are for primary-aged students preparing for the 11+ exam, whether they're just starting out and need to build core skills, or are further along and want focused practice and exam technique in the run-up to test day.
