About Jessica

I am an experienced English language educator with over twenty years of teaching experience. I hold both a B.Ed. in TESOL and an M.Ed. in TESOL, and I am deeply committed to a communicative approach to language teaching. Whether the focus is writing, grammar, pronunciation, vocabulary, or another area, I prioritize meaningful interaction and real-world language use.
My lesson plans follow a clear and effective structure, typically including a warm-up, modeling, guided practice, independent practice, a conclusion, and targeted feedback. This framework ensures that students are supported at every stage of their learning while gradually building confidence and autonomy.
In writing lessons, for example, I emphasize a balance of interactive, student-centered activities while consistently building on learners’ prior knowledge. I take a process-based approach, breaking writing tasks into manageable stages such as planning, drafting, and reviewing. Lessons are carefully organized into 15–20 minute segments to maintain engagement and allow for focused skill development.
What sets me apart is not only my extensive experience, but also my specialized training in TESOL and my ability to tailor lessons to each student’s needs, abilities, and interests. I strive to create a supportive and dynamic learning environment where every student can succeed.
