About Ines

I passed my GCSEs in 2019, and was awarded a grade 9 in GCSE English Literature and a grade 8 in English Language respectively. I also recently completed my A-levels and received A*A*A*A, as well as an A* in EPQ.
I have been tutoring for five years, and so have gained a substantive amount of expertise in the profession. As an English Literature university graduate at a Top UK uni, I have been accepted in Russell Group universities (one of which is Durham University). As such, I have the required skills to push my students to excel in the subject of English Literature.
My English undergraduate degree, coupled with my extensive tutoring expertise make me a professional and reliable tutor for your child/student. My skills as a tutor have been exemplified in my French GCSE students last year, where most of them achieved an 8/9 in their exams. Most of my students are under GCSE or A-level examination, although I have had instances where I tutored adult learners or international students from outside of the UK.

My passion and enthusiasm for all things literacy and communication have led me to the pursuit of a Masters in Speech and Language Pathology, which I am currently in the process of completing. I hope to use this additional qualification in a way that seeks to continuously ameliorate my tutoring expertise.

Lessons will follow a specific structure, with an unwavering focus on the student’s weaker areas. I believe in making lessons as interactive as possible, and so there will be numerous opportunities for the student to interact with the content in fun ways- animations, quizzes, videos, active recall activities.
With older students (GCSE/A-level), I focus on teaching what is often viewed as a hard task- close reading. Students under my tutorship gain the skill of going through a text and succinctly analysing the methods that lead to the top grades. Lessons will be discussion-led, allowing students to explore their autonomy whilst also enabling them to master their critical thinking. Homework and exam practice are indeed central to my teaching methodology, especially with subjects like English. As such, lessons will often consist of going through exam questions and looking at ways to answer them, in the overall aim of enhancing the student’s confidence and ease in the exam scene.
As a fresh graduate who also underwent the same exams as my tutees, my sessions are focused on providing students with the 'grade 7-9' techniques that will unlock their exam potential.
I have a proven track record of student excellence, and I am known by tutees as kind, passionate and enthusiastic. I love to crack a good joke (I think?), ensuring that my tutees are prospering in a safe and engaging learning environment that demonstrates that learning does not have to be static, but rather interactive and fulfilling.
Don't hesitate to contact me if you wish to know more about me as a tutor! I offer a free consultation to outline your goals and to work on an action plan for your child/student.
