About Sienne

With 5 years of teaching and performing experience, I am an experienced violin tutor passionate about helping students achieve both technical mastery and musical expression. I teach school and college students at all levels, from beginners exploring their first notes to advanced learners preparing for recitals, exams, and competitions.

One of the most rewarding milestones in my career has been guiding students from struggling with technique, posture, or rhythm to confident performers capable of playing with skill, emotion, and expression.

My teaching focuses on developing strong technical foundations, including posture, finger placement, bowing technique, rhythm, tone, and intonation, while also nurturing creativity, musical interpretation, and expression.

I include music theory, sight-reading, listening exercises, and performance practice to ensure students gain a well-rounded understanding of music. I adapt lessons to each student’s learning style, pace, and goals, creating a patient, supportive, and motivating environment. Teaching violin allows me to inspire confidence, nurture talent, and cultivate a lifelong love for music in every student.

About the lesson

I teach violin using a methodology focused on motivation, communication, creativity, and integrity, designed to help students grow into technically skilled, expressive, and confident musicians. Lessons are tailored to the student’s skill level, goals, and learning style, combining structured technical training, creative exploration, and performance exercises.

Motivation drives learning. I help students set clear goals, monitor progress, and celebrate milestones, cultivating perseverance, engagement, and confidence. Communication ensures a supportive and collaborative environment, giving students space to ask questions, share challenges, and explore musical ideas freely.

Creativity is emphasised through improvisation, interpretation, and composition exercises, helping students develop a unique artistic voice and emotional connection to music. Integrity promotes disciplined, responsible practice and respect for learning, forming habits that support long-term growth and success.

Alongside violin, I teach music theory, sight-reading, ear training, rhythm exercises, and introductory piano, providing a complete musical foundation. This methodology ensures technical mastery, artistic expression, confidence, and lifelong engagement with music.
