About Lexi
With a Bachelor’s degree in Music and six years of guitar teaching experience, I’ve helped learners from all walks of life build confidence and musical fluency. My own background includes playing in bands, solo performing, and arranging music for different settings and styles. My teaching style focuses on clarity, creativity, and personalization. I listen to each student’s goals and shape lessons accordingly—whether you’re starting from scratch or refining years of practice. I believe that learning guitar should feel both rewarding and fun at every level. Beyond teaching, I remain active as a performer and collaborator in various musical projects. This helps me stay connected to evolving styles and techniques, which I bring into the lesson space. I strive to inspire each student to find their own unique sound.

Beginner lessons start with the fundamentals—proper hand positioning, tuning, and learning open chords. We cover rhythm basics and simple strumming techniques, all while applying them to easy, recognizable songs. The focus is on comfort with the instrument, building finger strength, and developing timing.
As students grow, intermediate lessons introduce barre chords, scales, chord progressions, and fingerstyle technique. We study song structures, improvisation basics, and how to switch smoothly between patterns. Lessons also cover theory in action, so students understand what they’re playing—not just how to play it.
Advanced sessions dive into soloing, advanced rhythm techniques, and stylistic exploration in genres like blues, rock, and acoustic fingerpicking. Lessons become more tailored, supporting specific interests such as composing, live performance prep, or recording skills, with emphasis on creative expression and technical polish.
