About Peta

My name is Peta Henshelwood. I am the founder, Holistic Art Therapist, and Creative Educator of TIME2 Active8. With the aim of empowering social, emotional, and holistic wellbeing of all community members. I possess a Bachelor of Education (1992-1995), a Graduate Certificate in Counselling for Education Professionals (2021-2022) and an Art Therapy Practitioners Certificate (2023-2024). Since COVID I understand how difficult the last few years have been for everyone. The workshops I offer aim to empower you to discover new ways to interact with your thoughts and feelings through the creative process. Art Therapy helps you express and regulate your emotions, gain valuable self-awareness, boost your self-esteem and confidence, whilst reducing stress and anxiety.

I've been a teacher for 30th years and have taught in Pre-School, Primary Schools in Victoria, International School of Stavanger, in Norway, International School of Manila, in the Philippines, Canadian Academy in Kobe, Japan, and International School of Nanjing, in China before returning to Australia in 2019. I offer workshops within the local community that foster self-expression, self-care and self-compassion.

About the lesson

I offer various 2.5 hour x 4 week Mindful Art Therapy Workshops Including:
- Express Yourself Through Abstract Art / Intuitive Painting
- Sketchbooking for Relaxation
- Express Yourself Through Collage Art
- Express Yourself Through Colourful MapTangle Art
- Developing Mindfulness
- Developing Self-Compassion
- Express Yourself Through Mixed Media Art

No prior art experience is required, as the emphasis is on the journey of the creative artmaking process as a form of meditation that allows your mind to quieten and your 'soul to speak'. As you experiment with different creative art mediums you will be able to explore your unconscious mind, express your emotions, discover limited beliefs and self imposed barriers, to access your inner wisdom and unlock your true potential.

The first free lesson with Peta will allow you to get to know each other and clearly specify your needs for your next lessons.

Details

For 1-1 sessions it is $60 an hour.
Within a small group workshop setting I offer - it is $160 for a 10 hour (4 weeks x 2.5 hour per week workshop) with other like minded people.
