About Sim

Dental professional during the day and passionate about Punjabi.

Knowledge is power but more powerful when it is spread with others and this is my purpose.

I have achieved A* in GCSE Punjabi and at AS Level at a very young age. I was schooled in a local Punjabi school by my mother but also helped by family in India. After my formal qualification, I wanted to help the new students and so I started assisting with teaching at the school which I enjoyed very much. The journey of growth you see when students grasp onto a new language is truly beautiful.

I have been using the language confidently for over 20 years in England and India and I am proud to say, that it has become a part of my identity.

My mother who can act as a second tutor on request, has 50 years of experience with the language, having discovered different dialects and watched first hand, the evolution of the language over time. I am grateful to be able to share this opportunity with her to help you achieve your potential with Punjabi.

Our teaching comes from our heart and past experiences and not just books. Together, we will educate to not only explain but to inspire you and on that note, we welcome you on board this journey.

About the lesson

-What content do you cover?
✯ Anything you wish depending on your desires, ability and experience (any experience welcome). Examples include: alphabet, numbers, stories, grammar etc.
✯ Material that will ideally engage your listening, reading, speaking and writing skills so Punjabi becomes second nature to you.

-How will I be taught?
✯ I will tailor EACH lesson to suit YOUR preferred style of learning and requirements.
✯ We can keep it enjoyable, informative and interactive.
✯ This will be done online (Skype, Whatsapp, Google Hangout, Microsoft Team). Webcam desirable but not essential.

-Do you offer additional support outside of the lesson?
✯ Your progress is very important to me so I am more than happy to offer drop in calls to check how you are doing, time depending.

-Is there anything I can do outside of the lesson to be more prepared for the next session?
✯ Yes! I can offer you homework or pre reading material. Marking homework may incur additional fees (as this is done outside of normal lesson time).
✯ Also, please have a look at the package offer if you wish to do longer hours in one sitting!

-Which ages do you teach?
✯ Any age welcome

-How long are lessons?
✯ Lessons range from 30 mins - 1hr

-When are you available to teach?
✯ Flexible and currently available on Wednesdays, Saturdays, Sundays (any time of the day), and most evenings. It is usually best to keep the same time each week for a better routine.

-Does your price change?
✯ We can decrease or increase the price depending on what type of learning you are after and how long you would like for your lessons - please message for further details

-Can I message you for further information/advice before joining a lesson?
✯ Absolutely. I also offer a free first lesson to get to know you and break the ice. Very exciting :)
