About Palak

I’m a FIDE Certified Arbiter and trainer. I have played 7 Chess Nationals and 1 SGFI (School Games Federation Of India).
I have been teaching for more than 5 years now and have a very good experience with my students. I have also worked as a coach for many national chess institutions.

I’m the founder of a startup named 'Vividscholars'. We are conducting individual classes globally for Chess and other subjects (Language, Art, Dance etc.). Our academy has received recognition from National Himalayan Excellence Awards-2023, in the field of Education.

I personally believe each student has its own learning abilities and interests, so we try to focus on those requirements and the course is planned accordingly. We are a team of one of the best tutors in India helping children to improve their analytical thinking by teaching them CHESS in a very efficient way.

You may have a demonstration class of half an hour before finalizing the session. I'm sure your child will love the session and will learn to play efficiently soon. HAPPY LEARNING!

About the lesson

Hello dear parents! Does your child love to play chess and want to learn new techniques and improve their game? Don't worry, I'm here for the rescue.

We provide individual classes based on the student's learning abilities and level. Each student is groomed individually as per his/her interest.

Here is an overview of our teaching methods :- 1) Start from the basics. 2) Provide different puzzle strategies to develop pattern recognition. 3) Teaching 3 stages of the game one by one. It includes the importance of opening, middle game tactics, and end game. 4) Frequent matches with students, analysis of matches done by tutor to predict the improvement. 5) Providing regular Chess tactics with situations given as homework to the student. 6) Basic notes provided for every new concept/strategy. 7) Each session starts with the revision of the topic learned in the last session.

*So basically the course will be divided into 3 parts. All the major and minor topics will be covered in the course and will be taught one by one. Parents/Guardians are always updated with the progress of their child.

Don't worry if your child is a complete beginner. We try to make classes fun and interactive for our students, so they don't lose interest at any stage of the learning process. Also, we have practice sessions where our students compete with each other, this helps a child to further improve their game and enhance their interest. You can schedule class as per your preference and you will be free to clear any doubts outside the class hours also.

Tell us more about your subject. How did you develop an interest in this field?
So basically i am giving coaching classes for two subjects , CHESS and HINDI LANGUAGE.
I had started playing chess when i was 5 years old thanks to my mother and developed more interest in this game from 2nd standard when i started winning various chess tournaments. Since then it has been 13 years playing chess and i have played 6 nationals . I was selected for two S.G.F.I. (School Games Federation of India) but due to some reasons i was able to play only one S.G.F.I .
What or who is the motivation behind you choosing to teach & why?
I have always wanted to share my knowledge with ones who are interested to learn. Also my mother has been my motivation to choose teaching. The way she had helped me to grow and taught me various skills is the reason why i am able to express myself in a good way.
How does your work help society?
When we are interacting with different people we get to understand each other and this helps us build good relationships. Also when we share our knowledge we are helping our society grow in a certain way.
For instance, i am also giving classes for HINDI LANGUAGE and this will help foreigners to interact with Indian people and know their culture in a better way.
If you had to think of a role model for your work, who do you think of & why?
I do not have a role model as such.
Tell us about your hobbies outside teaching.
Besides teaching i love making portraits and i love writing so i maintain a diary for that . And if somehow none of the above is possible for me, i am addicted to play online chess tournaments specially 1 minute blitz.
Do you have an anecdote to tell us about your student or professional life?
Oh yes! When i started to teach i was not comfortable with any kind of chess softwares , and first 4 or 5 online classes which i had taken were on my chess board itself. I kept learning and experimenting with one of the software and finally today i am confident teaching with it.
So, i just need to tell everyone don't loose hope and feel inferior , try again and again , focus on your goal and one day you will definitely get to the top.
Also I have learnt to be consistent and have a lot of patience, because nothing big comes in your way itself , it takes time to achieve something, you have to do hardwork and a lot of practice to be a master !
