About Charles
Charles Morris Jr. is the V.P. of Development & Acquisitions for Global Genesis Group, a film and television production company and worldwide distributor based in Los Angeles and Las Vegas. Charles is a produced screenwriter, and the executive producer of dozens of features films and television series including “Escape Room,” a horror/thriller starring Skeet Ulrich and Sean Young, and the $15 million dollar animated feature “Troll: A Tail of a Tale,” directed by Kevin Munroe. Charles recently cowrote and produced "Night of the Falling Stars" which shot in November 2020. And he cowrote and is producing "Teacher's Watching" a Lifetime movie shooting in January 2021.

I am very story centric. Format for screenwriting is important, and there is a way to present a script to get it taken seriously by industry professionals, but sometimes the complexities and depth of characters, and story points, plot, pacing, structure are sacrificed for expediency and getting a "completed" screenplay. We want our writers to be the best they can be. To push themselves. So I like to challenge my writers, using examples from cinema history, talking genres, and refocusing stories, characters and screenplays so they not only have that "indie" feel but can also be produced for a mainstream audience.
