About Max
Final year student of English Language and Linguistics at the University of Portsmouth.
Experience in coaching and teaching multiple disciplines with children ages 7-17!*
Specialise in functional English skills, KS3, GCSE however can prepare students for exams and upcoming tests at all levels.
I’m also not too dull and boring… I think :) (I try to not make it like a school lesson where possible)
*This includes shadowing a Head of Department, Leading my own sports club and team for 2 years, and being a representative at an after school club for 5-11 year olds.

Roughly an hour (This is all subject to student personalisation and is more fluid that this, this is just a rough guide)
I aim to make sessions engaging and not full of static, long periods of silence with the student answering extensive pre-created exam material.
5 minute introduction - make sure everything is prepared and a quick chat
5 minute introduction/ warm up task - This usually is related to the previous sessions, less formal) (A-Level Students wont have this section)
20 minute 'ask the student' - Ask the student what they felt comfortable learning that week, and what they feel uncomfortable with and why (active learning discussion).
20 minute skill refine - Begin to work and refine those skills discussed in the previous section with pen to paper!
10 minute into practise - Either tutor designed exam style questions, quiz or Q&A (tutor led) to cap off the session
