About Marley

Hola! Soy Marley and I’m a half-English, half-Spanish final-year Philosophy and Spanish student at the University of Bristol, with a genuine passion for the Spanish language and culture. I know how daunting speaking another language can be, but I am here to help! Through my degree, I have developed a strong understanding of Spanish grammar, vocabulary, and linguistic rules, and I’m confident explaining these clearly to others. Furthermore, in my third year, I had the opportunity to live in Andalucía, Spain. There, I had the incredible opportunity to teach English at a primary school, thanks to the British Council. This experience deepened my understanding of language pedagogy and my ability to explain concepts in a concise and digestible manner. Whatever it is you feel you need to improve, we can work on together, and hopefully, you will start to feel like a native! My teaching is aimed especially at GCSE and A-Level students, since I’ve been through these exams myself and know how challenging they can feel. I’m here to guide you through every step, sharing tips on what worked for me and what to watch out for. Exams can definitely be stressful, but with the right approach and a bit of practice, they become much more manageable. In my lessons, we break tricky topics down into small, clear steps, practise exam-style questions, and focus on the areas you find most difficult. I also share exam strategies, like how to manage your time effectively, tackle writing tasks, and feel more confident when speaking. I want lessons to be practical and enjoyable, not just about memorising rules. We’ll work on understanding the language, using it in real-life contexts, and building confidence so that Spanish feels natural, not scary. By the end, my goal is for you to feel prepared for your exams and excited about using Spanish outside the classroom.

About the lesson

My Spanish lessons are one-hour, one-to-one sessions designed specifically to meet the needs of GCSE and A-Level students. Each lesson is tailored to focus on the areas where you need the most support, whether that’s reading, writing, speaking, listening, or grammar. Lessons are fully online and flexible, so you can learn from any location that’s convenient for you. Having completed both GCSE and A-Level Spanish, I know exactly what these exams involve and what’s expected at each stage. I use this experience to guide students through exam preparation, including exam-style practice, grammar revision, vocabulary building, and support with speaking and writing tasks. I also share practical tips and strategies that worked for me, helping you approach exams with confidence rather than stress. I like to make lessons engaging and enjoyable, using real-world topics and practical examples to bring energy into our sessions. My aim is to make Spanish feel accessible and relevant, while still ensuring that you make solid progress. Whether you are working towards GCSE or A-Level exams, or simply want to improve your Spanish skills, my lessons are tailored to help you build confidence, develop your abilities, and achieve your goals.
