About Fionnuala
Hi, I'm Fionn, a recent graduate and winner of the Bloomsbury Prize in English at Cambridge. I believe English, as a subject, can be transformed by the quality of its teaching. I know, at school, I was lucky enough to have a fantastic English teacher for four years, who could make whatever play, novel or poem we were studying exciting and interesting for everyone in the class. This is the kind of experience I try to create for my students, and I've been doing so for almost five years. I know the process of writing essays (especially in exams) can seem daunting, whatever your level of study, and I teach the same step-by-step plans I used throughout my academic career to make this less overwhelming. I strongly believe that building a student's confidence can help not only their literary understanding, but also the quality of their essays. This is why higher grades and more confidence tend to come hand in hand, and, in my lessons, I strive to achieve both.

Hi, I'm Fionn, a recent graduate and winner of the Bloomsbury Prize in English at Cambridge. I believe English, as a subject, can be transformed by the quality of its teaching. I know, at school, I was lucky enough to have a fantastic English teacher for four years, who could make whatever play, novel or poem we were studying exciting and interesting for everyone in the class. This is the kind of experience I try to create for my students, and I've been doing so for almost five years. They involve a mixture of discussion, presentations and individual work. I have experience of teaching primary school pupils, secondary school KS3, GCSEs and A Levels, and university students.

Fionnuala is a fantastic tutor. My son took A Level English Literature because he enjoyed her lessons at GCSE so much, and she has brought him from a C/B at GCSE to an A at A Level. I would recommend Fionnuala to anyone.
