About Alice
When I was at school, I found it hard to connect with teachers who felt so far removed from the stress and anxiety we were all feeling, which is why I want to teach others in my spare time. As a current postgrad student, I know exactly how it feels to be faced with the overwhelming prospect of essays and exams, but also understand how vital preparation is to help ease this feeling.
During sessions, I want to really get students interested in their texts as we analyse them, making them as exciting and relevant as I possibly can. I understand that English may not be every student's favourite subject, but I hope that, with my sessions, they will find something within it they enjoy to spark their interest and imagination in order to truly succeed.

I'm a current master's student in English Literature at the University of Leeds after studying both language and literature at an undergraduate level, so I have a great deal of academic experience in the field.
Lessons would be flexible in length, depending on your requirements and availability, but largely remaining at one or two hours. I am able to help with essay writing advice, as well as furthering their understanding of set texts in order to improve their analysis. We would go through what's been covered in class and beyond in order to consolidate understanding, working our way through the texts to understand key themes, ideas and quotations to use in their upcoming exams.
