RESEARCH EXPERIENCE
Dissertation: Cardiff University 2019 - Project Title: Urban Inequality: The Case of Liverpool
The aim of my dissertation was to understand where economic inequality is happening in Liverpool, who is affected by the issue and how. To achieve this a mixed methods approach to data collection and analysis was employed. Interviews were conducted with long-term residents, photographs taken, quantitative data produced and analysed including Gini coefficients. The data showed that economic inequality increases closer to the city centre and that the issue is having detrimental social impacts on residents. This achievement illustrates my ability to research, investigate, analyse, and organise often complex information and to project manage.

My customer-facing role covering the graduation weeks of universities in both Liverpool and Manchester. involved welcoming and gowning customers, responding to customer queries, collecting, selling, and sorting products. This required high levels of commitment and self-motivation given the extended working day, time-pressured conditions, client-facing nature, and sales tasks. This developed my comfortability working under pressure in a fast-paced environment, capable of delivering to short timescales, and my strong interpersonal skills. To elaborate, the team’s role involved serving around 500-1500 clients within a few hours period.
Liverpool City Council-2018
My work experience with Liverpool City Council’s Planning Policy Coordinator and planning department was valuable in gaining insight into the planning and policy sector, the work of a council, document management, project development, and an office environment. I believe I create a positive, efficient, and collaborative environment. My work experience with Liverpool City Council involved completing research for my supervisor individually whilst also delivering Article 4s in a team and working on the Frequently Asked Questions Document published alongside the Local Plan with my supervisor. I also attended staff briefings and a meeting at the Metro Mayor office.
